"Picasso: 14 Sketchbooks" Signage

Picasso: 14 Sketchbooks Signage

The exhibition Picasso: 14 Sketchbooks was a museum-quality exhibition at Pace Gallery with extensive signage, including curatorial texts, archival photographs, artwork labels, and large murals.

I worked with the Art Resources team to determine the needs of the exhibition, and worked directly with multiple signage vendors to work out logistics and place orders.

Materials used included sintra board, which was versatile for section texts and archival images that needed to be mounted to walls as well as suspended behind floating vitrines; vinyl text applied directly to the wall, which was used for the title and introductory text for a clean look; vinyl murals, for large scale images; and press type, for small artwork labels applied directly to the wall.

In addition to the physical signage, I designed a digital translation of a poem written by Picasso, which was accessible via QR code.
